Extend the Power of Scientific Computing with Cloud and AI

The Department of Energy National Laboratory community is focused on continuously expanding the boundaries of science and physics. And scientific computing fuels this work. High Performance computing (HPC), AI, advanced data analytics, and cloud computing are essential technologies in the quest to work smarter and innovate faster. This technical seminar explored how Google Cloud can complement the National Laboratory community’s vast on-premises IT infrastructure environments and support efforts to combine the power of AI, machine learning, and more traditional simulation and modeling technologies to accelerate time to discovery and innovation.

Specifically, this seminar:

  • Presented use cases tailored to the DOE science community
  • Examined how Google Cloud can complement DOE HPC facilities, accelerating scientific discovery
  • Explored the potential of Google Cloud AI to complement traditional sim/mod in HPC
  • Provided a deep dive into Google Cloud security solutions and how we leverage big data analytics to protect our customers from cyber threats
